One of Canberra’s most iconic events venues, Pialligo Estate has reopened for business. Set overlooking green fields by the Molonglo River and yet only 10 minutes from the CBD and 4 minutes from Canberra airport, Pialligo Estate combines rustic charm with modern luxury. This popular venue for corporate events, conferences, and team-building experiences is once again open for business.

Now under new management with restaurateur Anthony Whitehouse taking the helm, backed by property developer Tony Denny. Mr Whitehouse is Founder and Managing Director of Create Catering, Award-winning not only in the local Canberra market (namely Shaw Vineyard Estate, Lake George Winery and the Australian War Memorial) but also won Best Venue Caterer and Best Site-Contract Caterer for the Australian Museum in Sydney.

Keeping the original feel but a new lease on life, Pialligo Estate will become a prized business events hotspot once again. "The work with the Australian War Memorial brought me to Canberra initially. It’s such a vibrant city with a sophisticated food scene, so I wanted to be part of it. The added benefit to Pialligo Estate is the paddock to plate opportunity not only with growing our own, but access to such an incredible local product," said Mr Whitehouse. “We are excited to welcome back the business community to Pialligo Estate. Let’s talk – we are open to a marquee in the paddock if that is what you want!”

Set on 13 hectares, there are plenty of options for events. Pialligo Estate has a range of different sized pavilions including The Glasshouse and the Pavilion Restaurant. The event can be one large one for up to 400 people cocktail or 250 for a sit down banquet style event or have smaller groups in the stand alone pavilions. The style is modern country with timber beams, chandeliers, sheers, and floor to ceiling windows to maximise the views of the gardens and the skyline of Canberra. The gardens are landscaped and maintained to perfection with the added ability to make some lawns private or have guests roam the entire area.

Michael Matthews, CEO, Canberra Convention Bureau said, “A rural setting so close to the city is another example of how accessible the various experiences in Canberra are. We are delighted to offer the Pialligo Estate product again - especially with such culinary pedigree behind it who has had such local success with an international perspective.”
