Sales and Administration Coordinator
An exciting opportunity exists for a Sales and Administration Coordinator to join Canberra Convention Bureau and be part of a friendly and dynamic team responsible for promoting Canberra as a leading business events destination.
In your role as Sales and Administration Coordinator, you will provide strong administrative and organisational support to the Sales and Marketing teams, and the CEO as required.
This role is suitable for someone who wants to work towards a sales, events, marketing, or executive assistant role or learn more about destination marketing in the tourism industry. This new team member will be supporting the CCB team put all our members including major hotels and Canberra’s best event venues under the spotlight of national and international events organisers, as well as providing admin support for advocacy and Board activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide incoming calls support for Canberra Convention Bureau
- Assist the Head of Sales and Sales team with maintaining accurate sales data/information within the Bureau database and produce reports as required
- Manage and organise the office including boardroom bookings, storeroom, kitchen and office supplies ensuring the office runs as sustainably as possible
- Assistance with projects relating to IT, phones, internet, and file management
- Provide backup/support to the Sales Coordinator with lead distribution and incoming enquiries when absent
- Provide back up/support for collation of finance/expense claims for approval and submission to Bookkeepers
- Collation and distribution of board papers
- Minute taking at board meetings and Annual General Meetings.
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Ability to prioritise and time manage activities and co-ordinate multiple projects to deadlines
- High-level verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Confident with technology
- Ability to work well in a small, collaborative team environment
- Commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and professionalism
- Digital proficiency in a CRM platform, MS Office Suite and SharePoint
- Interest in the business events sector and the role it plays in contributing to tourism outcomes and the knowledge economy
- Experience in the local tourism industry or hospitality experience is an advantage
- Sales and client services experience preferred
- Current driver's licence.

The applicant must have preferred work rights in Australia.
This is a full-time. office-based role - 38 hours per week however for the right candidate we may consider 30 hours per week over 5 days.
The successful candidate will be required to attend occasional after-hours functions.
