Canberra Convention Bureau has appointed Kimberley Wood as Head of Sales and Kimberley Roberts-Salee as Head of Marketing, in a strategic restructure aiming to streamline operations as the destination focuses on recovery for the Canberra industry.

With support from Business Events Australia, Canberra Convention Bureau delivered in early March Reconnect Canberra, a one-hour immersive and interactive famil to 30 meetings planners and trade media, taking them on a journey through Canberra’s world-class experiences and showcasing its endless possibilities for business events.

The National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC) is gearing up for a return to large in-person business events as it welcomes the Australian Information Security Association (AISA)’s 2021 Australian Cyber Conference from 16-18 March.

Smart Badge was developed in Australia as a response to COVID-19 to help reinstate confidence and reduce risk for business events to occur. The technology delivers a practical means for conference delegates to control their personal space, and provides event organisers the ability to rapidly respond to COVID-19 risk.

ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr confirmed today support for the delivery of new contact tracing and social distancing technology, Smart Badge, to help Canberra attract new business events to the region in the current environment.
