Bid Coordinator

Canberra Convention Bureau is a not for profit industry association, supported by Government and Industry stakeholders with a charter to grow business events to Canberra and the region.

An opportunity exists for a Bid Co ordinator interested in a career in business development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the Business Development Team with the creation and management of bid documents
  • Manage short lead and small event enquiries with the aim to increase business opportunities for the small meetings market.

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in administration, business, tourism and/or marketing
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Sales ability
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and time manage activities
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Work well in a small, collaborative team environment
  • Minimum three years events or business development experience within the business events and/or hospitality industry
  • Computer literacy and experience in Adobe InDesign, CRM database and MS Office Suite.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the business events industry and Canberra’s national capital attributes as a business events destination. Hours of work are generally 8:30 to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday with some out of hours work to attend functions and host clients. The Bureau has a strong culture of supporting learning and development programs for all employees.
